Adventures in Kentucky!

First and foremost, I apologize for my absence this past week! I took the week off to spend some much needed time with my amazing family up in Kentucky. Sometimes you just gotta get away for a little bit and not be on any sort of schedule!

Also, since I was out of town, I didn’t do my Week 5 42Days2Fit Challenge. I didn’t make a weekly menu or fitness routine since the whole week was spent at my parent’s home and doing random spur of the moment things (like eating at McAlisters :D). We are using this week to prepare for next week to get back on the challenge, since our grocery shopping was thrown off.

Anywho, here are some highlights from last week!

1. I must say say how PROUD I am of my amazing husband! He was officially licensed into Ministry last Wednesday, and his Ordination ceremony will be next year sometime. I know he will excel wherever God leads him in this. Plus, look how cute he is 🙂

2. My mom is my best friend (other than Nick of course) and life has been sort of crazy lately for both of us, so it was nice to spend time with her! We took a very girly day shopping and ate lunch at Red Robin, one of our favorite places to go. We got to talk and catch up and it felt just like old times when I lived there.

3. Wednesday was also my brother’s birthday! Happy late Birthday Phillip! He is the best brother any girl could ask for.

4. One of my favorite parts of this week was getting to get out into the country a little bit and fire off some rounds from a 9 mm, 20 gage shotgun and my dad’s new 22 rifle! We bought my dad a gun for father’s day and couldn’t wait all the way until then to give it to him 🙂 My aunt has some land, so instead of paying to go to a gun range, we loaded up and got to spend as much time out there as we wanted, for free! It was great target practice, as well as fun getting to shoot some clays (Daisy Shatterblast Refill Disks (60 pack)).

Anybody else have a awesome week as well? I sure hope so 🙂 If you are feeling overwhelmed and busy, take some time to rest!
