So I have completed Week 1 of the 42 Days 2 Fit Challenge and I must say… wow! There were some moments of frustration, hunger, and intense craving, but also the most JOY I have felt in a while! It felt like I was taking back control of my diet and exercise, whereas before it felt like there was just no hope and no point to try.
The Lord has really convicted me about my motivations for this as well… He doesn’t want it to be because I don’t like myself or the way I look; He wants me to see the beauty He created and to take care of my body so that I can continue doing what He has called me to do!
I ate a LOT of great and tasty meals this week, drank lots of water, and exercised. It was super easy at first, even though I was hungry a lot. This was okay though because I already knew my portion sizes needed to change. As far as grocery shopping, we hit up Kroger with our rewards card and saved a ton of money while also gaining fuel points 🙂 The exercise routines were excellent, it worked my body great but I didn’t feel like I was overdoing it.
Here are some examples of some of the yummy meals I got to have this week, as well as: chicken tacos, yummy salad, and skillet cooked tilapia & brown rice..
On the left is a sourdough bread pannini with basil spread, sliced tomato and mozzarella cheese. On the right is a toasted whole wheat bagel with guac, spinach leaves, sliced tomato, provolone cheese and an egg. (All of the above is organic)
I will say my husband and I did have a cheat day… We went out to Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant and it was soo good! It was Valentine’s Day okay?! Shouldn’t that be okay? 🙂
